FAQ

1

How do I know if my child needs Early Intervention?

Every child develops at their own pace, but if your child is missing multiple milestones — such as not talking, walking, or engaging with others at expected ages — it may be a sign they could benefit from support. If you’re concerned, it’s always best to schedule a developmental screening.

2

What happens during an evaluation?

An evaluation looks at your child’s development in areas like communication, movement, play, and social interaction. Specialists observe, ask questions, and may use play-based activities to assess skills. Results are then shared with you, and if your child qualifies, an individualized plan (called an IFSP) is created.

3

What is the cost of Early Intervention services?

In South Carolina, Early Intervention services are provided at no cost to families. Our team can help walk you through what services may cost in your area.
